A refill bag is 400 g of our own soy blend with a wooden wick, poured in our atelier in Brecht — the same wax as in our candles. Melt it in warm water, pour it into your own vessel, and your Oscar burns again. In the bag: soy blend, wooden wicks, wick clips, gloves and instructions.

Wax left over? Simply keep it.
Don't need the whole bag — a small vessel, or you're keeping some for the second layer? Screw the cap back on and let the rest set in the bag. Stored cool and dark, the soy blend keeps for months. Next time, put the bag back in warm water and carry on pouring. Nothing goes to waste.
How it works
Burn your vessel empty, then clean and dry it. Place the bag in a pan of warm water at 50–60 °C (never boiling) until the soy blend is liquid. Rinse the bag briefly under cold water, open the screw cap and pour gently into the vessel. Set the wooden wick in the centre as soon as the wax starts to set at the bottom. Keep about a quarter of the wax aside: once the first layer is fully hard (small glass after ±5 hours, large after ±8), pour that final layer on top so the surface is smooth again. Let it harden completely, trim the wick to 1 cm and light.
How much do you need? Fill the empty vessel with water and measure the volume; subtract 10 % and you have the weight in grams. 400 ml of water = one bag. How many wicks? Vessel of 6–8 cm: 1 wick · 8–10 cm: 2 · 10–12 cm: 3 · 12–16 cm: 4.
